Corrie LoGiudice is passionate about getting more women into leadership roles to drive real, top-down change. “I left the corporate system to create more inclusive career opportunities for myself so I could be a more present mother for my son,” she shares. “I found my mission through wanting my daughter to never feel she has to make the same choice.” Now, as a Mic Drop Academy graduate and dynamic speaker, Corrie helps women in the workforce transform overwhelm into action so they can step into leadership with confidence.
What inspired you to pursue public speaking?
I honestly never believed I could get paid to speak. I actually talked so much as a kid my family paid me to be quiet! Many years later after leaving my 15 year career as an SVP to start my own business, I had lots of people ranging from my mentors, my therapist, to people I’d meet networking asking me if I ever considered public speaking. I decided to give it a try, and landed my TEDx only six month later!
As a public speaker, who is your main audience?
I specialize in speaking to women’s audiences. I do a lot of Women’s Associations, Women’s Leadership Conferences, and Corporate Women’s Employee Resource Groups.
What is a struggle you’ve encountered as a thought leader and how did you overcome it?
I have a tendency to subconsciously sabotage myself to protect myself from fear of success. My brain loves to overcomplicate things, break systems and processes that are working, or limit my visibility! It’s taken me years of personal development to become self-aware enough to know when it’s happening, as well as identify where the root of my fear is so I can address it.
What is one of your proudest accomplishments so far in your public speaking career?
It’s how quickly I make things happen. From when I decided to get into public speaking, I landed my TEDx in under six months. Recently, when I decided to become an author, I landed my literary agent in a similar timeframe. I’m not afraid to go all in on an idea and execute on it quickly.
What is a speaking career goal are you currently working towards and how is it going?
After being asked at post-event meet and greets if I had one for years, I finally have a book based on my signature keynote that’s currently being shopped to major publishers! It’s exciting and terrifying all at the same time.
What is something you love about speaking?
For me it’s the ability to be able to shift someone’s thinking, and therefore potentially the entire trajectory of their life though a story, statement or lesson. A simple statement positioned the right way can make someone believe in themself in a way they’ve never considered before. It’s why I love doing what I do.
What tip do you have for people who want to write or speak?
You’ve gotta get the reps in! It’s not about having a fancy website, a logo, or even the perfect talk scripted out. It’s about getting in front of live audiences or writing and publishing your message as many times as humanely possible to really hone your craft. Consistency is key!
What advice would you give your 10-year-old self?
Stick with it girlfriend… one day people will PAY you to do what you do naturally! 🤣
